Water Wells

3 FAQs about Your Well Water System

At Ackerson Pump Company, we specialize in all things water wells, water tanks, and pumps. We get a fair number of questions from our customers and the general community, especially from individuals who recently purchased a home with a well. We’re glad to help out our Sussex, Bergen, and Morris County neighbors, so feel free to call us anytime. However, for your general reference, we’ve compiled a few of the most common questions we get.

1. Do I really need to have my well inspected?

If you’ve moved into a new home or it’s been a while since you’ve had your well inspected, then the answer is simple: Yes. To avoid damages and to make sure things are working properly, it’s important to have your well inspected and serviced regularly. That way, you know its condition, can make any necessary repairs, or maintain it properly. Plus, if you’re a newbie, you’ll benefit from knowledge about how your well and pump system work.

2. How often should I have my water tank serviced?

Each water tank is different, so we recommend that you check with the manufacturer for specific recommendations. However, in general, most water tanks should be serviced every two or three years for good maintenance.

3. Which type of water pump is best?

This question is a little trickier. Each home and well is a bit different, so the type of pump your home needs may vary from the house down the street. Your best bet is to have one of our technicians come to your home and assess your well and system. From there, we can make recommendations as to what will work best for your New Jersey home and your budget.
