Water Tanks

How Often Should I Have My Water Tank Serviced?

At Ackerson Pump Company, we get a lot of questions from our customers about keeping their water tanks in top working condition. Like our customers, you want to keep your water tank running well to avoid costly repairs or a complete replacement. Part of that equation is preventative maintenance from our qualified crew.

Each water tank comes with manufacturer recommendations for regular service and part replacement. However, if you cannot find your owners manual or just want an expert opinion, our technicians usually recommend that you have your water tank serviced every two or three years.

During a service call, here’s what you can expect:

  • Inspect and replace parts that are in poor condition. A few parts that are often replaced include the switch, gauge, or even the pressure release valve.
  • Take a look at the overall functions of the water tank. We’ll monitor it to make sure it’s working like it should. If we notice some inconsistencies or needed repairs, we’ll make suggestions on how to make repairs (or plan ahead for future ones).
  • Air charge the tank. This step is important for keeping that water pressure you know and love.

We’ll take care of all this with one service appointment. If we discover that larger repairs or a replacement is necessary (whether immediately or in the future), we’ll be sure to give you a no-obligation quote. That way, you can decide whether to move forward and make plans to keep your water tank running properly.
